Do you know of all the gluten free cookie brands?
We all love some store bought cookies from time to time and luckily for the gluten free eaters, we have plenty of options! Take a trip to the gluten free aisle of any grocery store and you will be amazed at all the choices of gluten free cookies. From shortbread, to chocolate-chip, to various sandwich cookies, here are the best gluten free cookies from the store. Today, I will be sharing the best ones; both ready to eat and ready to bake!
This post is all about the best gluten free cookie brands you can find at the grocery store.
1. Gluten Free Oreos
Okay if you do not like oreos then keep scrolling to see the non- oreo cookie choices! But I had to make this number one because of how excited I became when I learned that Oreo was coming out with a gluten free option. The day these became available I made a grocery trip a priority! I went directly to the cookie aisle, snatched up a box of these and went straight to the checkout. My excitement was extreme since I had not had oreos for years because of my new diet.
These gluten free cookies did NOT disappoint. I was elated about finally being able to enjoy these famous snack desserts again! Everyone I know who tries these things loves them! My non gluten free friends and family agree that they taste pretty much identical to the real thing. I personally notice that the texture is slightly crunchier. However, no one else seems to notice that aspect, which is great! This just shows how much Oreo really nailed it with these gluten free cookies! For these reasons, gluten free Oreos ranks number one on my gluten free cookie list!
2. Goodie Girl Fudge Striped Cookies
I think most people have heard of the Keebler Fudge Stripes Cookies, but did you know there is an almost identical gluten free option? These cookies come from the brand Goodie Girl and they are their Fudge Striped Crunchy Oat Flour Cookies. These are just delicious!
You may be skeptical about their use of oat flour. Goodie Girl says they use Purity Protocol Oats to make their cookies. Purity protocol is a method that ensures oats are gluten free. These oats reach the highest standard of gluten free. They are not allowed to contain more than 5ppm of gluten. The FDA says that gluten free foods must contain less than 20ppm (parts per million) of gluten. Purity protocol oats are well below this number. So rest assured that these cookies are safe even though there is some oat flour in them.
3. Goodie Girl Birthday Cake Sandwich Cookies
Another favorite from Goodie Girl are their Birthday Cake Sandwich Cookies. The golden cookie mixed with the colorful icing inside makes for the perfect birthday cake flavor! These are the best when you want a particularly sweet cookie. You can find these at Target, Walmart, and various grocery stores. Check your local store and see if they have these delicious gluten free cookies!
4. Schar Gluten Free Chocolate Dipped Cookies
The brand Schar is such a brand when it comes to gluten free food. So it is not surprising that they make some great cookies. These ones in particular are addicting. They are” butter cookies dipped in chocolate”. I love how they are light and airy with the perfect crunch. The crumble as you chew is super satisfying! These gluten free cookies are very light on your stomach so eating a couple hardly feels like you ate dessert. To some that is a good thing, to others not so much! Nevertheless, I am in love with these!
4. Schar Gluten Free Vanilla Wafers
When you think of vanilla wafers you may either imagine the crispy, rectangle layered crisps or the small round vanilla cookies. Lucky for you I have included both types in this list. First, we are talking about the former. These wafers from Schar are such a hit! This is definitely a cookie that was easily modified to be gluten free. The vanilla filling is so creamy, and combined with the airy crisps, they are amazing! These are super light and definitely a favorite of mine. These can be found at Walmart, on Amazon, and in various local grocery stores.
5. Kinnikinnick Vanilla Wafers
I don’t know about you, but vanilla wafer cookies were such a favorite of mine growing up. It took me quite a while to realize that these gluten free vanilla wafers existed since becoming gluten free. Let’s just say I am so glad I found them at the store one day!
These gluten free cookies are just what you want in a vanilla wafer cookie. The taste is spot on and the texture is not bad at all. Again, these cookies are pretty light so they are not as filling as a gluten containing vanilla wafer cookie. But who cares? They are so delicious!
Kinnikinnick is a gluten free baking brand whose products are also free of nuts, soy, dairy, and peanuts. They have been around since 1991 and have loads of other delicious gluten free snacks and desserts. Their facilities are entirely gluten free.
