Roasted pepper pasta ingredients
Red Bell Peppers– 3-4 red bell peppers. You can also use a jar of roasted peppers to make it simpler.
Shallot– 1 large shallot or 2 small ones. This type of onion gives the best flavor for this dish.
Garlic– 3-5 medium cloves depending on how strong you want the garlic flavor to be.
Olive Oil– for roasting
Grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano– This gives a perfectly cheesy saltiness.
Milk– This will be most creamy with regular whole milk, but you can certainly substitute for other types.
Red Pepper Flakes– For a bit of spicy and to add a complimentary flavor.
Smoked Paprika– Essential for the flavor we are going for here.
Fresh Basil– Using fresh basil here both in the sauce and as a garnish.
Oregano & Thyme– The perfect classic pasta sauce seasonings.
Salt & Pepper– For obvious reasons
How to make creamy roasted pepper pasta
Roast the peppers, shallot, and garlic in a pan with spices and olive oil at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes.
Start the pasta at an appropriate time so that it can be finished by the time the peppers, shallot, and garlic are done roasting.
Once they are done in the oven the only thing left to do is blend all of your ingredients until super smooth and creamy.
Top with basil, more cheese, and more red pepper flakes. Enjoy!
Roasted pepper pasta modifications
Add protein– This pasta would be amazing topped with roasted chicken or even steak.
Top with burrata– Top this creamy pasta off with an even creamier cheese for a perfect bite.
Light cream instead of milk for an even heartier and creamier texture.
Roasted peppers from a jar can simplify the process of making the sauce! The flavor will not be compromised at all, and may even be better!
